For the last few weeks, we’ve been working hard to give you more choices and more savings when buying Lava Lake Lamb at www.lavalakelamb.com. Here’s what we’ve done:
Added many more Lava Lake Lamb Packages
Added, for the first time, Lava Lake Lamb Clubs
- What’s a Club? Multiple shipments of any Package. Order any quantity of any of our Packages, specify delivery every month, every other month, every quarter or every six months, and tell us how many times you’d like the shipment delivered. It takes seconds. Every Club saves you money off the Package price and offers even greater savings off Cut prices.
Laid on an additional discount for volume orders
- If you order five or more of the same Cut, you get a discount. When the team built that into the site, they didn’t tell me at first that they did it for Packages and Clubs, too. Well, when I found out about it, I said “why not?”
So, if you really like Lava Lake Lamb loin chops (and who, I might ask, does not?), you can order the Cut (which actually contains two packages of two chops each for a total of four loin chops) or our Chop Lover’s Package (16 chops) for a savings of $9.84, or you can Club the Package (let’s say you want the Package shipped to you every other month over the course of a year for a total of six shipments) for a savings — per shipment — of $5.01 off the already discounted Package price and $14.85 off the Cut price. The overall savings across all shipments for this Club is $89.10 off the Cut prices!
Try this: You throw a nice big party and – what else – grill Lava Lake Lamb for your guests. The good news is you ordered five Chop Lover’s Packages (80 chops in all). Being careful to reserve half the chops for future (read: personal) use, you grill 40 chops for, say, 25 or so guests (well, at my grilling parties, 40 chops might feed a dozen of my very hungry carnivorous friends). You save $114.20 vs. the price of the individual Cuts.

Let’s think community. Suppose you and four friends want your families to enjoy 100% grass-fed, grass-finished, sustainably and humanely raised, free-range Lava Lake Lamb from the Northern Rockies. Excellent! Now, let’s suppose that amongst you, your four friends and everyone’s families, main squeezes, precious cherubs, hangers-on, voracious teenagers, ice-climbing dirt-bags and miscellaneous miscreants, there are 20 souls to sustain. Nice. In a flash of true genius, you configure the Club of all Clubs. Oh, yeah. You know already, don’t you? Yes, you Club the Whole Lamb Package. And you do it right. “Quantity 5”. You set up your Club to get five Lava Lake Whole Lamb Packages each shipment as beautifully wrapped Cuts. You say, “Thatsa lotta lamb!” True. But not for 20 people. Not when you set up your Club to get a shipment every six months! This works out to less than two pounds of lamb per person each month.
What does this all mean? This: fewer individual shipments, greater weight per shipment, less shipping material per pound of lamb, lower carbon footprint, lower shipping costs, greater savings. How much greater? Let’s see. You save on the Whole Lamb Package. You save on the Whole Lamb Club. You get a volume discount because each shipment contains five Packages. All in all, as of today, on this particular Club, you and your friends collectively save $394.85 per shipment and $789.70 overall vs. the Cut price. Not bad! Plus, it’s better for the environment.
Do you need five friends? Nah. Two of you can reap the benefits. Just select the right Cut or Package and Club It!©. Pick how often and how many times you’d like a shipment. When you select quantity, don’t forget the volume discount magic number: 5!

Have you ever been frustrated or outright confused by “competing” discounts on the same website? You can get this discount or that one, but not both. I hate that. We’ve really tried for total transparency at www.lavalakelamb.com. It’s not perfect by any means, but we’re getting there. We show you the savings on the Package and Club pages. We politely let you know how many more purchase dollars will qualify you for free shipping. And all of our discounts, except for the occasional special, are cumulative! Let me say it this way: you save when you purchase a Package. You save more when you Club that Package. You save even more if you get the volume discount. This adds up!
A note on shipping. As of this writing, we offer free shipping on all shipments of $200 or more. The savings varies considerably, zone by zone. No matter what the cost is, you won’t pay it if your Cart value is $200 or more per shipment. We’re working on being able to tell you what that savings is, for greater transparency.
My suggestion: Exercise the site. Look at the Packages and the savings vis a vis the included Cuts. Configure a few Clubs and see the savings. See the impact of the volume discount. Think about what makes sense for you and how you can take advantage of the savings opportunities.
