Lamb Shanks Recipe for a Slow Cooker

Lamb Shanks Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 TBL olive oil
  • 4 small lamb shanks, trimmed
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 medium carrots, 1” pieces
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped onions
  • 4 large garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 Bottle white wine, preferably Chardonnay
  • 3 sprigs thyme
  • Bay leaf

Lamb Shanks Recipe Directions

In pan, brown lamb shanks evenly for about 20 minutes. Sprinkle sugar, salt & pepper on lamb shanks until golden. Transfer lamb shanks to slow cooker.

Add veggies to pan, cook for about one minute. Transfer to slow cooker. Add wine, thyme, and bay leaf. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve juices in gravy boat.
