About Our Lamb

On our family ranch outside Sun Valley, Idaho, Lava Lake’s grass-fed lambs range freely over nearly one million acres of rangeland, raised with care by seasoned shepherds in much the same way they have been raised for centuries. They graze on the natural bounty of a vast and biologically diverse landscape. The result: fit, healthy animals that make the most delicious, tender, nutrient-rich meat.

A growing body of research indicates that eating grass-fed meat is a healthy choice for your family, because it is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E and beta-carotene, and lower in fat than grain-fed meat. Learn more about the benefits of grass-fed meat.

Because of our ranch’s isolated location, the lambs are assured access to clean pasture. Lava Lake Lamb is 100 percent free of added hormones and antibiotics or herbicides and insecticides. Tender and juicy, its flavor is pure and delectable. Our lamb is featured on menus in top restaurants in the Intermountain Region, in fine grocery stores and butcher shops around the country during the summer months, and year-round online at www.lavalakelamb.com.
