Lava Lake Wildlife Society Recognition Award

Spring has arrived, and brought with it some much needed late snow. Luckily, our small flock of organic Panama ewes are taking the weather in stride. In this photo, a new lamb finds a comfy position on mom's back.
We're very pleased to report that in March Lava Lake was honored with the Idaho Wildlife Society's Special Recognition Award for our work to accomplish landscape scale conservation in South Central Idaho. The Special Recognition Award is intended to honor any person or group who has made an outstanding contribution within the State of Idaho to the general areas of wildlife conservation, management, science, or conservation education; the wildlife profession; or to a specific area or endeavor, species, community, ecosystem, or region.
The Wildlife Society is an international organization of wildlife professionals dedicated to excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education. Established in 1937, The Wildlife Society's membership is comprised of nearly 9,000 wildlife professionals and students from more than 60 countries.
Gregg Servheen, IWS president, was very pleased to honor Lava Lake for their work, "The Wildlife Society is an organization of highly dedicated professionals committed to excellence in wildlife stewardship. It is important that we recognize those landowners who work so hard, unselfishly, and not without sacrifice on behalf of the conservation of our native wildlife and natural communities. The conservation commitment and the scale of work accomplished and underway by Lava Lake Land & Livestock while simultaneously developing a new business is especially noteworthy and deserving of recognition."
All of us at Lava Lake are honored to receive this prestigious award.
