Lava Lake lambs range over thousands of acres with their mothers, grazing on fragrant wild grasses and herbs and continuing to drink their mother’s milk throughout their lives in Southern Idaho’s Pioneer mountain range, as nature intended. This provides each lamb with the proper nutrition and important antibodies necessary for good health and vitality, making for the most delicious meat available.
The disruptions in the meat industry had a significant impact even on small processing facilities, and despite a valiant effort over several months, we were unable to secure processing in 2020. So we are sold out of some of your favorites, but still have choices to make a delicious lamb meal – sirloin, ribs and sausages, and osso bucco for stews and curries. We hope you’ll try something new and send gifts to your family and friends who appreciate meat that is not only delicious but raised humanely and sustainably.
The pandemic has certainly brought many challenges, and also the opportunity to pause. At Lava Lake, we are looking forward to this season with confidence and with gratitude for all of you.
